And excellent introduction to Tibet, this trip is designed with a traveler in mind, who wants to experience Tibetan culture and hospitality without leaving the comforts of the city (hot water baths and soft beds especially....) and who is not necessarily intent on visitng Tibet's remoter tourist destinations, which can only be reached after many days of driving. Lhasa will be our base and once properly acclimatized to Tibet's high altitude we will trek into rarely visited corners of the Tibetan countryside. We will have tea with nomads, learn about their lives and visit several monasteries and nunneries, all far off the trodden tourist trails. We intentionally keep away from places which have become overrun by the tourist masses of recent years and focus on giving you the real insights into Tibetan life, or what is left of it today.
